Frimley Green Cricket Club vs Seven Sports - Sunday 8th June 2014, 14:00

Frimley Green Cricket Club (191/7) beat Seven Sports (132/9) by 59 runs

Match Detail
FGCC maintained their 100% home record for 2014 thanks once again to Rich Loosley excelling with bat and ball. Winning the toss and with both teams only fielding 10 players, FGCC lost opener Mark to the fourth ball of the innings. With Tim coming in to steady the ship, both he and Rich combined to add 67 for the second wicket, a partnership which ended when Tim was adjudged LBW. It was then Rich's turn to play anchor as Messers Fleming and Kendall gave FGCC some valuable middle-order runs with a combination of big hitting and a fair share of luck. Looking to bat through 40 overs for the second time this season, Rich got to 88 before he skied a delivery late on trying to reach his fourth FGCC hundred. With 192 the target, Seven Sports openers D. Johnson and Dench gave things a good go early on until Dench had his off-stump smashed via a pearler from Mike Parry. Despite a couple of dropped catches, FGCC held some difficult chances - Jim taking a one-handed catch at slip via JPs boot, Rich running back to take a fine C&B, Mark Russell taking a tricky catch at deep square leg to dismiss danger-man P. Johnson for a duck, Nick Kendall snagging a rocket at mid-wicket, and Rich doing the same off Jim's bowling to eventually dismiss opener D.Johnson for a well-made 64. Despite some middle-order hitting from Seven Sports skipper D. Childs, only two opposition batsman made double figures, and it was left for Adam Jones to wrap up the innings with only his second ball for the club to seal a deserved victory.
