FGCC's total of 179 was too much for a spirited Hawley side to chase down. After Antony Johnson's superb 84 off 91 balls the Frimley Green innings folded somewhat, but for all the wickets that fell, the runs kept on coming. Alan Greaves and Tim Jones provided strong cameo appearances. Tight opening spells from Shahid Hussain and David Huggett restricted Hawley to 42/4 after 16 overs, and they never recovered sufficiently to really make a game of it. Alan Greaves and Jon Prior bowled 8 tight overs each, before Mike Lloyd and Rus Edmonds came on to finish the job. Edmonds in particular can be proud of some excellent bowling at the death - when Hawley needed 30 runs from 6 balls, he only conceded 3.
